Tools for the Summer Job Search
You just finished your exams, handed in your last papers and sold your textbooks back… Now it’s time to have some summer fun and save some money to pay off that spring break trip, and all of your expenses from the past year at college.
All of you should have a summer job or an internship lined up, but for the rest of you slackers that don’t… ValoreBooks.com is on your side and wants to help you find a job.

When hunting for a job, there is an endless supply of resources on the internet today. It is easy to get confused and overwhelmed. Make sure to have a few goals in mind before you start your search.
What pay are you shooting for?
- (Do you need the money? Or can you get by with an unpaid internship)?
Where do you want to work?
- (Do you want to stay local or are you willing to move away for the summer)?
What type of experience are you looking for?
- (Do you want to experience that will look great on your resume for the programming job you are going for? Or an experience that will invoke personal growth)?
If you have any other goals make sure to write them down. It will help narrow and define your job search. When you are ready to begin your search, make sure to check out the sites listed below:
Don’t forget to check out:
- Facebook Group Search (Search “Summer Jobs” in Facebook Search)
- jobs.myspace.com

FYI, you have some duplication in your list. Simply Hired and Indeed both list jobs from all sites including Monster and CareerBuilder. Also, MySpace Jobs is powered by Simply Hired. I would also suggest posting your resume on one of the free sites so all employers can find you without paying thousands of dollars to search the database.
